NetEnt’s new Street Fighter slot

Street Fighter is one of the most popular and best-selling arcade games of all time. So, is it any wonder that leading iGaming content provider NetEnt is bringing a version to the screen?

NetEnt is taking the excitement and entertainment of the original Street Fighter arcade game to its new slot game: Street Fighter II: The World Warrior Slot. It was first shown to audiences at the ICE 2020, and was met with great excitement and anticipation.

Eight original characters return to the game, ready to resume combat. Ryu, Ken, Honda, Blanka, Guile, Zangief, Chun-Li, and Dhalsim are all back for Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, and interestingly they all have different RTPs. However, the RTPs are all around 96%.

Players will be able to choose a character and fight a random opponent. Who will win and take the prize? You will have to play and see! Spinning the reels will decide who the victor is…

Retro yet modern

Since this game came out in 1991, Street Fighter has gathered plenty of fans. But whether you played the original or not, this game has been updated for all players.

Street Fighter II is a 5 row by 5 reel Cluster Pays slot.

The sounds and the graphics conjure up memories from the original arcade game, and the action is just as gripping too!

Players will spin the reels to find winning combinations, which will then determine how much damage a character receives. Battles will rage on until either fighter runs out of health points.

If a player is victorious, they will activate Beat the Bosses Free Spins where they will have to face four very recognisable bosses. This is a multi-level game and you will face a new boss on each level you reach. And just to make things more interesting, the multiplier also increases on every level.

Players that defeat all four bosses will be crowned World Warrior Champion. They will receive a special prize, which just adds to the overall excitement that this game offers.

If, however, a player loses, they won’t go to this round. Instead, losing players will have the opportunity to regain their honour and earn some cash in the Car Smash Bonus Game.

There are also Wilds throughout the game, but not just ordinary Wilds! Every time a player gets a high-value symbol in a winning combination, they will receive 1 point. If they collect 7 or more, they will trigger the Wild Combo feature which will randomly place Wilds anywhere on the reels.

“Nostalgic competitiveness”

Bryan Upton, Director of Games at NetEnt says:

“In developing Street Fighter II: The World Warrior Slot we felt a huge responsibility to ensure our slot game lived up to the iconic 90s original – a videogame which has continued to entertain fans for almost 30 years.

Authenticity was a critical factor to the design of this game, from the arcade-inspired art and sounds to the game mechanics, as well as the Beat the Bosses and Car Smashing bonus rounds. We designed the game to fuel players’ nostalgic competitiveness throughout the gameplay. We are immensely proud of the end product and we hope players all over the world appreciate it.”
